Indycar Speeds Into St. Petersburg March 24

IndyCar’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of St. Petersburg hits the starting line on March 24, and you can catch all the action on NBC Sports Network.

We sat down with Dario Franchitti, defending Indianapolis 500 Champion, and 2012 Tony Renna Rising Star award recipient Charlie Kimball, who is the first licensed driver with diabetes in the history of IndyCar to compete at the most elite level of the series. We talked with both drivers about what they are looking forward to most this season.

We also spoke with Charlie about his diabetes awareness campaign — away from the track he is well known for his diabetes awareness campaign and often meets with people living with diabetes as well as members of the healthcare community. NBC Sports Network’s IndyCar schedule includes 13 races in three different countries (U.S., Canada, and Brazil), the first and last races of the year, as well as the popular Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Other race locations include: Barber, Ala., Long Beach, Calif., Sao Paulo, Brazil, Milwaukee, Wis., Mid-Ohio, Ohio, Sonoma, Calif., and Baltimore, Md.
