Golf Channel’s new original series, “In Play with Jimmy Roberts,” premiering Tuesday, March 12 at 10:30 p.m. ET and returning monthly, scours the globe to find the most compelling stories in golf. We talked to Jimmy Roberts about his new program on Golf Channel, why golf is a great backdrop for storytelling, and what he is looking forward to most by sharing these stories. “My entire professional career has been about finding good stories and telling them, and there isn’t anything else I’d rather do,” Roberts told us in an interview.

In the premiere episode tonight, viewers will meet Valentino Dixon, a man who has spent the past 21 years at Attica State Prision in Latrobe, Pa. for murder. Eligible for parole in 2030, Dixon has never played a round of golf or even picked up a golf club. However, he passes the time in his cell drawing famous golf holes from around the world.
