In honor of Father’s Day and all of the wonderful dads out there, this week iVillage debuted its first annual Hottest Dads in America contest.

A total of 10 dads were chosen out of over 700 applicants in categories ranging from Hottest Single Dad, Hottest Dad Over 40 to Hottest Tattooed Dad. The contest garnered a tremendous response on iVillage with people eagerly logging on to the site to vote for their favorite dads.

The overall winner of the contest, James Tritle, a military dad from North Pole, Alaska won over the hearts of the iVillage community based on his photo and wife’s caption: “His Hotness is Just the Icing on the Cake. True beauty comes from within. My husband might be eye candy, but the best thing about him is that he is an amazing husband and father.”

We caught up with Liz Zack, Editorial Director, Pregnancy & Parenting, iVillage, and several of the winners of the contest at the NBC Experience Store at 30 Rock. Hear what they had to say about dream Father’s Day gifts and tips on shopping for dads:
