Chris Matthews and Friends Celebrate New Book And Talk Politics

Last night Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, celebrated the release of his new book “Tip and The Gipper: When Politics Worked” at PJ Clarke’s in New York City. Matthews spoke about the collegial relationship between Speaker of the House Tip O’Neil, who was Matthews’ boss early in his career, and President Ronald Reagan, telling a story that illustrated the fact even when the two men disagreed, they shared mutual respect: “My boss Tip O’Neil would always say, even though we argued with him, he would say The President of The United States,” Matthews said. “He’d never say Reagan, like today they say Obama, it’s very different.”

Martin Bashir, Joy-Ann Reid, Ed Rendell, and MNSBC’s newest addition Ronan Farrow weighed in on the book and the current state of affairs in DC right now. Check it out here:
