TELEMUNDO ROCKS THE LATIN BILLBOARD AWARDS
Telemundo had a real blockbuster hit on their hands with the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm, both on-air and online. The April 28th broadcast drew the highest-ever numbers in the award show’s 13-year history. Across all demographics, the pre-show “Alfombra Billboard” and the awards telecast reached nearly 6.6 million total viewers on-air. Meanwhile on the web, the story got even better: the show was the #1 worldwide trending topic on twitter as it aired, and their following on Facebook grew by 54% that night. Even the livestream of the show saw record numbers, with almost 500,000 views.
