Cecily Strong & Colin Jost Take Over SNL Weekend Update

SNL head writer Colin Jost will make his debut as co-anchor of Weekend Update this Saturday on SNL. Following Seth Meyer’s exit to host “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Jost says he’s nervous but excited to take his seat at the desk alongside co-anchor Cecily Strong.

“I think it will be fun to be out there [on set] having worked together [with Cecily] behind the scenes for so long,” Jost told us in an interview.

Jost famously wrote for popular characters on SNL Weekend Update, including fan favorite Drunk Uncle (played by cast member Bobby Moynihan) and The Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With at a Party (who is played by Strong). Jost will make his debut this weekend on “Saturday Night Live” on NBC with host Jim Parsons and musical guest Beck.

Check out the video below to see Cecily Strong and Colin Jost – and their obvious comedic chemistry – talk about anchoring together for the first time this weekend, and their special message to Lorne Michaels.

And once inside these companies, he’ll do almost anything to save the business and make himself a profit; even if it means firing the president, promoting the secretary or doing the work himself.
